Nicolas Pain's nen training (can someone help me with this?)

Nicolas sat up against the tree, it was a quiet night, then again he enjoyed quiet nights. He was waiting for his father, who had told him today that he was going to do some very special training for him, Nicolas sort of guessed what it was , after all his uncles were very adapt at that special technique , Nicolas too wanted to have his own power, his assasinations would go much smoother with it.

His father emerged from the surrounding shadows suddenly an unexpectedly, to anyone but a fellow assassin this would have been quite alarming, this was the sort of night that seemed fitting for them to be here, the sort of warm summer night with cool breezes that seemed inviting for those who did their work under its cover of darkness. Nicolas' father seemed to be feeling a mixture of warm paternal pride and creeping uncertainty all the same he kept his distance from his son as all assassins usually did and spoke in the deeper, clearer manor which Nicolas was accustom to "son..." he began "at the age of sixteen you have reached a time both in your training and your growth as a human being in which you must take on a certain teaching, what you will learn next was taught to myself and your uncles by our father and his father before him, however this teaching is not that of the Pain family alone and so it is essential to learn this both to survive and become a full fledged assassin" He raised a hand "can you feel this?" he asked as at first there was no change but suddenly from his father Nicolas could feel an overwhelming pressure combined with a sudden primal fear the likes of which he'd never experienced, it was clear that with what was happening that he was outclassed by this one, unexplainable technique.

Nicolas felt a wave of power "What is this sir? This power that you will teach me? I feel something strange......" Nicolas could not explain his feelings at all, he was not scared but curious as to this feeling he had.

"what you've experienced was an energy called nen, plain and simple nen is what you will need to be able to perform as a higher level assassin" the feeling stopped as quickly as it came "yes Nicolas tonite is the start of your training, you will be initiated in to nen practice the same way as we all were at your age, I'm going to use my energy to force your body to open its own energy so that you may begin the study of nen, however know that this is somewhat of a risk, you may not survive this initiation so please think carefully about what you are undertaking, if you survive having your bodies energy points op end you will be bale to join myself and your uncles as full assassins but if not you may become seriously injured or worse, however I believe that out of all of your grandfather's grandchildren you possess the greatest potential and that you can survive, are you prepared to take this risk? If so please remove your jacket and turn your back to me for a moment" the boy felt his nen with out even being trained to feel it, this was a good sign

Nicolas decided not to ask further, he always found learning the actual thing to be better than to ask stupid question, Nicolas removed his coat, leaving only his white dress shirt and double katanas on his back. "I am ready sir....."

He raised his hand to Nicolas' back with out touching it, even though Nicolas' skin wasn't being touched he could feel the hand's heat and pressure on him "then Ill start now" he said simply as a rush of energy unlike any Nicolas had ever experienced, he felt the energy rush though him rocking him to his core as nothing ever had, then suddenly he could feel a strange sensation rising from inside him, like heat but also unlike anything he had ever experienced, his body's energy was starting to come out and he could see and feel that all around his body, Nicolas' father let out a sigh of relief, his son had made it though his initiation alive but they were not out of the woods yet. "good good, son how do you feel now?" he asked seeing that his son was now in a state of ren.

Nicolas did not know why he did this, he suddenly felt like trying something, he punched the tree and it cracked and fell down Nicolas was shocked, he felt exhausted "What on earth? I wasnt this strong before....."

Nigel had a slight smile "that's because your body is using its energy like never before, however if you don't learn to hold in your energy you'll soon lose consciousness, the way you are now is called ren, but in order to prevent losing your energy you'll need to achieve what is called ten, to do so you will need to hold the energy that is coming from your body around you in a small layer, true nen users are in this state even while sleeping." hopefully he'd be able to do this soon or his son would soon pass out. "try to hold your aura which is flowing out of you around your body, and quickly"

Nicolas concentrated, he tried to picture and grab his aura into his body, and cease it from flowing out freely, he made cloak his body, this was difficul to do, he concentrated and finally managed to make it cover his entire body , Nicolas was panting, he had difficulty in understanding fully, but he was getting the grasp on this strange new power.

Nigel was relived that his son was safe and proud that he was learning nen so easliy. "With the enargy around your body you should be more protected from harm, now comes the third basic technique of nen, Zetsu! In order to hide your nen from others as an assassan and recover your lost enargy you should also learn how to shut your aura off, once you have mastered thease three techniques, ten ren and zetsu I will be able to teach you more" he said in a clear, simple tone "at that point you can come to me later on and I will test your nen" he said turning to go back inside with his son.

Nicolas nodded and decided to concentrate, he sat under another tree and focued his aura, trying to learn how to manipulate it. This went on for three hours, until he finally stood up. He walked foward and then used Ren followed by Ten and then punched the ground, causing the ground to blow up into a crater. Nicolas knew he was ready.

He walked to his father, "i have mastered Ren, Ten and Zetsu sir, now what?"

Nigel was seated in the deepest part of their manor like house looking over some reports as his son walked in looking tired but confidant "oh?" he said simply turning over in his chair "would you mind showing me each then, ten, ren and then zetsu?" he said sternly but excitedly hoping that Nicolas would have been this skilled. He shifted his aura to his eyes to better see his son's progress in nen.

Nicolas first used Ren , and as the aura was flowing out, he used Ten almost immediately, and then he smashed through the wall with his fist. "And now for Zetsu......" Nicolas jumped back and then begins closing off his aura completely, he stores it within himself . He finally stopped and then said, "Is this sufficient?"

((ten is a guard it dosen't make you stronger like ren))

Nigel was taken aback at his son's rapid progress "e-exleent but... please don't break anymore walls Nicolas..." he said trying to avoid being angry as he would have done the exact same in his shoes "next is the advanced skills of nen, Ken, Gyo, Shu, En and In" he said pulling back a curtain on a wall which showed the advanced techniques with a brief description of their uses, ten ren and zetsu were also written on the tapestry as well as the word "Hatsu" on the very bottom which was still covered up "study these techniques and practice the first three every day till you've mastered them all, this may take even you a few days or even weeks to accomplish, again please see me when this has been done" he said rolling up the first part of the tapestry and handing it to him (its okay to skip around for training time)

2 months later
Nicolas got up, he had been lying down here for a while, the training had taken alot out of him. Nicolas stood steady now, feeling better now that he had rest. It was time to try the new types he learned. First he used Gyo, focusing all his nen to his abdominal area. It felt about right. Then he proceeded with Ken, and imeediately smashed a nearby Boulder with his kick. He then stopped using Ken, as he knew he would not be able to use it for long. The next technique was diffcult for him , it took him 2 weeks to master it. Nicolas used Shu and transfered the aura to a piece of paper he had torn from his books, he threw the paper which had become like a blade and it cut through the tree nearby. Nicolas was panting now, but he knew he needed to review fully before returning. He decided it was time to go back.

He walked back home and saw his father "Sir i have completed the daily menu, i have finished with all principles except HAtsu...."

Nigel felt that indeed enugh time had passed "please, come in son" he said gesturing to his office, we shall test each of your nen's principles if your ready, first Gyo and ken, then with this cardboard you can demonstrate shu, next I will be turning the lights off for you to test your In and En, understand?" he said in his usual authoritative and distant assassin father tone as he proceeded to use Gyo on his eyes to being the tests.

First Nicolas used Gyo, and placed all his aura into his abdomen aream creating a tight defense. He then let go and used Ken to exert some powerful aura, he did not want to break anything so he simply demonstrated his control of the aura. Then Nicolas stopped Ken, He then used the cardboard his father gave him and sharpened it using Shu. "How is that sir?"

His father had expected great things from Nicolas but he was outperforming even his expectations "excellent" he said getting up and turning off the lights in the room, which was now completely pitch black "now lets see your En and In, for a start how many fingers am I holding up?" normally it would be impossible to tell as there was no visibility in the room but anyone with en could he felt

Nicolas used En to try and find his fathers location and then searching, its not as if his father tried to hide from him, however, a man with his fathers skill was naturally able to hide his presence. Nicolas the found a slight movement, he was good at En, he enjoyed searching for auras, he then calmly said "You are holding up 3 fingers sir......"

Nigel smiled in the dark "correct and finaly your In" he said simply

Nicolas comepletely hides his nen completely. However it was very difficult for him. He always had problem using In, but at least today he was able to hide his nen easier and he was now completely unfeelable. He felt exposed though.

Nigel smiled and turned the lights back on "you've done well son, finally comes your hatsu" he revealed the last part of the tapestry explaining that hatsu would be his unique ability, then his father produced a cup of water and a leaf "please place one hand on each side of this and perform ren flooding your aura in to the glass, depending on what happens your hatsu can be determined

Nicolas places his hands on each side of the cup of water, he waited for a while, and then suddenly the leaf in the water begins to move, Nicolas was shocked at this "Is this the winds doing? how strange...."

Nigel explained simply "no son, this means that your hatsu belongs to the manipulation group, in essence you will posess the power to manipulate something with your aura once you form the ability, you should train to master the ability you will form with this hatsu while practicing the basic techniques ren and ten daily"

Nicolas looked confused "how do i train my hatsu, is manipulation type you say?...... That might be useful....." Nicolas was pondering for a bit in his mind waht he could do with a power of that nature, he then was even more confused as to how he would use this power. Through extending his nen? through rope? how?
