Alec's Unexpected Guest

Alec was walking through the forest minding his own business. The Birds were chirping as the wind swept through the leaves. The World around him teamed with life. "Agh!, How Boring!" she said to him self. he quickly climbed up a tree and tried to take a nap. "At least i cant be bored when im unconscious." And with that his breathing slowed and the only noise he made was his silent breathing.

Melisa was thinking to herself as she walked, she had been on the trail of exceptional people a while now and had scoured the city already, her attention hard recently trained to the underworld, raised by criminals and trained by a martail artist, if he was real he'd be a welcome addition to her team for sure. She meandered her way to the park walking along a narrow fences edge with ease. Siting in under a tree looking unconscious sat a man in rather strange looking clothing which had drawn her attention, the pouches he carried were meant to contain shrunken, she new that much from her upbringing. She decided to check if he was really asleep by creaping over past him with a minimal does of ninja stealth.

Alec was awoken by the presence of another person close to him, but he didn't open his eyes he just plopped on his side and continued to pretend to be asleep.

Melisa wasnt exactly impressed, but she figured she would wake this guy up one way or another, next she checked his nen potential using gyo and found that a powerfull aura existed dormant with in his body! Now she actualy did need his atention ren! she said activating her aura senidng it out to him so that he could feel the overwealming sensation that was nen, if he was alive that would wake him up.

Alec felt the blast of the Nen and was defiantly shocked, he quickly kicked his feet off the ground and hooked them on a low hanging branch then swung him self up in the tree. He sat there and stared at her. "Who are you? what do you want? are you a member of the Takanuza clan? the Unihuro clan? (he listed about five more names of rival criminal clans he new of)

Melisa returned to a state of ten, what ugly names, as ugly as her actual clan name Fuuga "umm... no but judging from all your background knowledge and those shuriken pouches your Alec Trenten right? Ive been looking for you but not because I'm an enemy, rather Ive been looking for you because I have an offer for you, that feeling you felt coming from me was part of a greater technique, if you take me up on this offer not only will I teach you that technique but Ill make it so that neither of us will have to work any jobs again" she was saying quite a few total irrational sounding things but the look in her eyes and commitment in her voice made them sounds absolutly real and the sudden disappearance of the feeling combined with her freindly expression made her seem so trustworthy and the technique she had used had felt to real to be disputed.

Alec considered this, for about 30 seconds then jumped down. "Who taught you how to use Nen?" he saw the somewhat surprised look on her face "The Old Man taught me about it, but he didn't know how to teach me to use it, because that lazy old man was to lazy to learn himself" And if you are talking about going through the hunter exam, i already decided that that would be to much work." he said, she look a little surprised by him knowing exactly what she was talking about, but he picked up a lot of info just by keeping his ear to the ground.

Melisa exhaled, this saved her allot of time but seemed a bit of a let down, she had a whole speech prepared. "well, to be honest" she said with a smile "Im a ninja" this was only surprising as she looked one hundred percent average "I learned nen back home and Im offering to teach you because I need some help, see..." she looked at him knowingly "the real advantage to that exam is the prize at the end right? The license is what alows you all those freedoms and all that money so..." she guessed he knew where she was going with this "theres more than one way to reach the goal, all we have to do is just take the cards once the hunters earn them for us..." she explained further "the most recent exams started just a while ago so in the mean time Im gathering special individuals who can help me get the licenses from the rookies and they'll need nen to do that"

"Yes! i would love that! thats the life for me never a dull moment!" "But i don't know how to use Nen, I assume you know how to teach me?"

She smiled, this time she didn't have to do much work to win him over "alright then, if you'll come with us Ill teach you how to use nen, this is Shoji, our other nen prodigy" she said gesturing to a taller lanky-er looking man with strait black hair and slight stubble with a headband and a pair of larger old style headphones around his neck. Shoji raised a hand of greeting and seemed a bit weary of Melisa but thankful to have another with them. "you might recognize Shoji" teased Melisa "hes a deadbeat who use to owe debt to the mob till I intervened" Shoji gave a mournfull groan that she would say something like that out in the open "d-dont go saying things like that to just anyone!" he called over to her clearly still surpized she had said that "hes not just anyone" Melisa retorted "hes your new co-student"

"Not really, i normally don't deal with the "customers" i normally just get a bunch of free shit from them" Alec Smiled, He got a good feeling about these people and liked them both. "Well then, i hate waiting around its so boring can we start soon?" he said

Melisa led them to a more secure location, a room in an apartment building which she'd rented for a month, there they would be able to focus on the teaching a bit beter. "to be able to use nen you have to be... how should I put it 'activated' and that's when your body becomes open to its energy and your aura begins to come out, now there's two ways to do this, the safe way or the fast way, if you chose the safe way you will train for a few months or even years to learn to be able to use nen like I did or if you chose the fast way like Ive already done for Shoji your body will begin to release it's aura but there's no guarantee that you'll survive with your body in tact, I'd 'activate' you by flooding my aura in to your body and forcing your aura open, but if I do that I cant be held responsible for any damage that might occur to you" She posed the question already knowing the answer "which way would you want to take the safe way or the fast way?"

"fast way, I think. Training for a year, ugh so boring" he said, he was getting really excited.

She let out a sigh, it seemed like everyone chose the fast way but her "alright, since Im using my aura with out any harmful intentions it shouldnt hurt you that much and with talent like yours the results should be a parent right away..." she rolled up her sleeve "okay then if your sure about it take off that jacket... thing and turn your back to me, Ill need to be able to flood my aura in to the space between your shoulders under the back of your neck" she explained as she readied her aura

Alec removed his jacket and reveled that his entire torso was covered in bandages, then untied a knot on his shoulder and allowed the bandages on his back to loosen revealing the skin of his back. he turned around so She and Shoji could see his back, and she could have access to it. They both saw that his back was covered in scars.

Shoji was visibly taken aback but Melisa was to focused to pay close attention to the scars as she gathred her nen and flooded it in to Alec's aura nodes pushing them open, it was a very complex and delicate thing to do and she had to consentraite very hard to avoid hurting him.

Alec's back seized up and he tensed and then felt a great heat and pressure then a severe push/shock then they feel warmth rushing out from him with a new found sense of power. "ahhhh" he said in relief and began to tighten his bandages back up. "So now what?" he said to Melisa, but was looking at Shoji who was staring at him.

Melisa interpted him "if you keep leting your aura flow out like that your going to lose consiouness" she began to explain "right now that warm feeling and sense of power is your aura flowling out of you, a technique called ren. If you dont learn to hold your aura in around you you'll run out of enargy so you'll need to pull yourself in to a technique called ten where your aura is held close to you" she said with some degree of urgancy as his aura came flooding out.

After she said this he new she was right because he felt him self getting weaker, he attempted to hold on to the warmth and then felt it stop. now he felt it build up, he was getting his power back. "Wow this is unlike anything Ive ever felt, when Can we working to get my Hatsu Ability?

Melisa barely had the heart to tell him "Alec... you havent done ten your opening and closing your aura doing zetsu and ren right after each-other, and no Im afraid you both have a long way to go" she took a breath before explain "see the two of you are already nen geniuses, thats why I chose you because you were both able to get to the basic skills with in a days time and most people, Id say nine hundred ninety nine in one thousand would have taken at leist a month usually years to get to where you've gotten" now for the bad news "but the fact of the mater is you both need to master the basic techniques of ten ren and zetsu, move on to the advanced techniques and then get comfortable with using them before you can even begin to grasp your hatsu, otherwise neither of you will be ready"

Soji seemed more willing to take things gradualy "but thats alright isnt it? I mean Ive only just gotten to ten ren and zetsu myself but we could just train in those for a few months right"

Melisa looked at him quizicaly as if hed said something abnormal "are you kidding? The second your both ready Im teaching you the advanced skills but you'll need to get there first!"

"Well Im ready to start Lets GO!"

Melisa sighed "you werent listening were you?"

a great period of time passed, the three of them trained and trained in nen mastering the basic prinicbpleas and practicing them every day just as they learned ever expanding new techniques learning to perform ten, ren zetsu and then the finer skills of shu, en, in, gyo, and ken one by one finding their individual talents and honeing them before the time finaly came

"Hatsu is the fist skill you two will learn that wont be the same for both of you" she said one mounding "I think the time has finaly come for you to learn it and the test to deturman what sort of hatsu you'll be using is also the one way to train in it for now" she explained gestruing to a cup of water with a leaf floating in it "so for a start I want each of you to take turns placing one hand on each side of this cup and flooding your aura in to it, youve done alot to come this far and Im proud of both of you" she explained

Alec looked at Shoji and said "Ill go first, Ok?" he nodded in agreement. Alec placed both hands on the Glass and flooded some of his Nen that he now had a much better control over, into the glass. Nothing happened that he could see. "Nothing happend, what does that mean?!" he said, with worry in his voice. "Taste it" Melisa said. He picked up the Glass and took a sip. "It tastes Minty" He said to her.

Melisa smiled "that means you belong to the transformation group, your hatsu will involve changing the properties of your aura to fit something else, I knew a ninja that made his aura behave like different smells and another nen user who made his take on the characteristics of acid" she poured out the water and prepared a fresh glass and leaf "you should focus on finding something to get your nen to behave like and being around it as much as possible to familiarize yourself with it"

she set the glass down in front of Shoji "alright, my turn!" even Shoji seemed a bit exited as he fed his aura in to the cup and looked down on it eagerly when suddenly the leaf shriveled up and lost its color... it died!
